Back at Glastonbury I met up with The 2 Bears. The portraits were for a feature Mixmag ran following them as they played a set on every day of the festival.

Weather wise the weekend had gone from torrential rain,wind and mud, through to blazing hot sunshine – pretty typical for uk summer. It was nice to shoot in such good weather, but the nikon speedlights I was using don’t keep up well at sunny f/16 – especially the sb900 which just falls over at the slightest hint of heat and engages thermal down.

The second pic was done after their last set on sunday, just after the sun had gone down and with everybody traipsing home. The fireworks, marking the end of Beyonce’s closing set on the main stage, came just at the right time. The light was really low and fading fast, pushing the iso and apature to get some decent ambient and balancing that out with the flash on its lowest power was a bit of a stretch, I think a min or two later and it wouldn’t have worked out.
