Back in January I was sent out to Belgium with Modestep to cover their appearance at Les Transardentes Festival in Leige.

Turns out its a nice trip over on the eurostar, france ..etc, brussels, trees and fields, very nice all that. Better than being stuck in a car.

Leige was a bit of a ghost town, but turning up at the venue (some non descript pile of warehouse type hanger things) 1000′s of youngsters had turned up to rave.

Maybe i’m getting older, but definitely seemed a younger crowd, almost underage. I’ve no idea where they had come from either, certainly couldn’t be locals. Taxi driver reckoned they appear up from all over europe on the train and are gone by first light.

I was blown away by their live performance, not often I am these days, and to be fair I was probably expecting them to be the same as anything else I’ve heard recently from the rock/dj/grrrr mashup guitar decks crossover genre soup that’s been bubbling away over the last few years. I was wrong, and big time!

Not much outside to indicate anything was going on inside this big shed, apart from one sign
