New venue for warehouse project, kinda out the way (near old trafford), but with a free bus back to Piccadilly who gives a bibble? Amazing sound inside, and a what felt like a  5000+ strong crowd in room 1, 7pm start with headliners coming on early, whats not to like? Photos >>>

Birmingham played host to Circoloco last easter sat, utilising a huge outdoor space in Digbeth.

Weather wasn’t exactly up to Ibiza standards, but the rain did hold off (until the last ten minutes anyway). Made up for by a huge Circoloco lineup and an obscene sound system

Its a big one! After a slight hiatus, TRMNL are back at their new venue Lab11 in Digbeth, Birmingham.

Kicking off the launch with Radio Slave, a huge warehouse space under a railway bridge complete with second room and a huge courtyard outside area, not to mention a fantastic sound system.

Back in January I was sent out to Belgium with Modestep to cover their appearance at Les Transardentes Festival in Leige.

Turns out its a nice trip over on the eurostar, france ..etc, brussels, trees and fields, very nice all that. Better than being stuck in a car.

Leige was a bit of a ghost town, but turning up at the venue (some non descript pile of warehouse type hanger things) 1000′s of youngsters had turned up to rave.

Maybe i’m getting older, but definitely seemed a younger crowd, almost underage. I’ve no idea where they had come from either, certainly couldn’t be locals. Taxi driver reckoned they appear up from all over europe on the train and are gone by first light.

If you haven’t heard modestep yet, go take a min, have a listen, come back.

I was blown away by their live performance, not often I am these days, and to be fair I was probably expecting them to be the same as anything else I’ve heard recently from the rock/dj/grrrr mashup guitar decks crossover genre soup that’s been bubbling away over the last few years. I was wrong, and big time!

Not bad for a Thursday night, Mixmag are putting on a monthly event featuring the cover artist as the headliner.

Richie Hawtin to kick things off this month then at Village Underground.

Wax:On presents Eats Everything + Maya Jane Cole @ Mint Warehouse, Leeds.

Mint warehouse is a far cry from its days as kerbcrawler!

I love Bugged Out (so many good memories!), so what could be better than a weekend of it at Butlins with somewhere to sleep and make a cup of tea between catching world class electronic acts? Probably nothing.

Oh and there was a swimming pool of epic proportions too. A pizza place right next to our accommodation (that delivered), and rumour has it a Burger King, but we never found it. Plus loads of other things to do.
