I love Bugged Out (so many good memories!), so what could be better than a weekend of it at Butlins with somewhere to sleep and make a cup of tea between catching world class electronic acts? Probably nothing.

Oh and there was a swimming pool of epic proportions too. A pizza place right next to our accommodation (that delivered), and rumour has it a Burger King, but we never found it. Plus loads of other things to do.

Well Rounded Housing Project with James Fox and Hodge headlining at The Tube, Brighton. Despite being a cold and stark mid January night, WRHP drew a big crowd into the intimate venue.

Back to Basics is 20 years old, prob older than a lot of clubbers I see out and about. Some of you might rememeber I covered their 18th a couple of years back which was a party and a half.

Things were turned up a notch for the 20th, very very special party, and as usual I’ll let the photos do the talking.

 


I’ve covered pretty much every city in the uk when it comes to nightlife, from Aberdeen to Bournemouth and everywhere in between, yet somehow Brighton had always passed me by. Thankfully I got myself  down to Digital for Supercharged back in November. Having shot  their sister club up in Newcastle the week before (annie mac presents jaques lu cont …) I was really excited to get down, and with a line up including Jack Beats and Friction, it was never going to be a dull evening.


Digital Brighton just won Dj Mags award for best small club, I think you can see why:

Back in November I was asked to head up to Manchester to shoot a project run by Converse called Wall to Wall which saw local artist Faunographic paint a huge piece of art on the side of a building in the Northern Quarter.

Converse also took over the side of the Print Works to create a huge projection showing short ‘making of’ films about the street art. Street temas were deployed across the city with mini projectors able to display the same short films and various converse logos.

Annie Mac presents… Jaques Lu Cont @ Digital / Newcastle


Been a while since I was last in Newcastle shooting a club, and although its been on my to do list for some time, I’ve never been to Digital.


So here we go, my first time at Digital and we’ve got not only Annie Mac, but the legendary Stuart Price (aka Jaques Lu Cont) back on the decks for the first time in years (must be 6 years since I last saw him play live).


Received the warmest welcome to Newcastle, and suggest you get to the Town Wall pub and sample its very own Toon Waal Ale, brewed exclusively for them and with label art by infamous ale lover Mr Scruff. Amazing stuff.

Back in September I went up to Leeds to cover Coloursound at  Leeds warehouse for Tiefschwarz and a whole host of other headliners. Great venue with good sound from the funktion 1 and all the lighting a photographer could want.
